The ACE Group Fitness Instructor Prep Course is designed to prepare individuals for the ACE Group Fitness Instructor Certification and to design and instruct a variety of safe, fun, and effective Group Fitness classes at Illinois State University Campus Recreation. This course is designed to prepare individuals to work with apparently healthy individuals and those with health challenges who are able to exercise independently to improve health-related physical fitness, manage health risks, and promote lasting health behavior change. The ACE Prep Course includes both an online and in-house component. The in-house component includes a 1-day (8 hour) workshop, followed by 4 additional days of classroom and practical components. These additional classes will be held from 3 - 6 p.m. on the following Fridays: February 16, February 23, March 2 and March 9. Participants must complete the required online coursework and the first in-house session in order to apply for a Group Fitness Instructor position at ISU Campus Recreation.
The ACE GFI Prep Course is an in-house training program that does not nationally certify individuals, but rather prepares them for the ACE GFI exam as stated above. We strongly encourage all candidates to pursue the ACE GFI certification in addition to our in-house ACE GFI Prep Course. For more information or questions regarding these courses, please contact Shelby Dietz at email@example.com or (309) 438-3704. Attendance in this course includes a 20% discount of the ACE GFI national exam cost.
