The Intramural Sports program within Campus Recreation provides an avenue for Illinois State students and faculty/staff to take part in a variety of recreational sporting events individually or as a member of a team. A wide variety of events are offered and can be either short-term tournaments or weekly leagues for men’s, women’s or coed participants.
Activities are also designed to accomodate a variety of skill levels and fall under the following categories:
Competitive Leagues - Designed for players that want a competitive environment with a potential to earn a championship. The format includes four scheduled regular season games. The top half of each division will advance to a single elimination playoff.
Recreational Leagues - Designed for players that want to participate in a sport with friends in a recreational environment. The format includes six scheduled regular season games. No playoff will follow the regular season
Designed to create an enjoyable environment where teams experience friendly competition in recreational sports. The format includes two scheduled regular season games. All qualifying teams will advance to a double elimination playoff.
One or two day competitive events for teams or individuals where skills range from recreational to competitive. The format includes round robin play followed by a single elimination playoff for qualifying teams.
Recreational events that do not consist of round robin or elimination tournament play, and are used to reach unique participants.

Activities listed below provide all necessary information including important dates, fees and more. To view registration dates for all sports for the entire spring semester, view the Intramural Sports Lineup. To sign up for a particular activity, follow the steps on the Sign Up page. The department has partnered with IMLeagues to help streamline the team registration process through an online format. Registration opens the first day of the corresponding semester.
